WASHINGTON, DC – October 25, 2007 – SAVVIS, Inc. (NASDAQ:SVVS), a global leader in IT infrastructure services for business and government applications, today announced it has completed construction and officially opened a new data center in Sterling, Va. to meet growing demand for integrated hosting and network services. The facility, situated just outside of Washington, D.C., will initially offer approximately 30,000 square feet of raised floor space. It provides customers with up to 224 watts per square foot of conditioned power delivered by a five bus electrical system and backed up with uninterruptible power supplies and diesel generators. Future plans call for additional expansion of raised floor within this facility.

The D.C. area data center will address the unique IT security needs of federal agencies by employing support staff with appropriate government clearance and implementing a number of 24/7 security features including guards, video monitoring systems, vehicle blockades, bulletproof glass and walls. Entrance pods, “man traps,” and a biometric entry system are designed to ensure that only fully authorized personnel are granted entry to the facility.

“The Federal Government and related suppliers such as prime contractors are increasingly demanding secure, flexible, and on-demand hosting and services from their IT vendors,” said Don Teague, Vice President of SAVVIS Federal Systems. “By specializing in providing an integrated set of high performance IT services, SAVVIS’ virtualized and managed IT utility services are playing an increasingly important role in the IT operations of federal agencies and commercial businesses.”

An example of this is the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB), an independent federal agency created by Congress in 1935 to administer the National Labor Relations Act, the primary law governing relations between unions and employers in the private sector. It selected SAVVIS to consolidate the NLRB’s entire IT infrastructure.

"SAVVIS' managed IT utility services, delivered from their Washington, D.C. data centers, provide the NLRB with a complete IT infrastructure solution that serves as the foundation for our risk mitigation strategy," said Bryan Burnett, Deputy CIO of NLRB. "This flexible and scalable solution allows us to minimize our capital expenditure while serving as a roadmap for future growth in our IT operations."

Commercial customers such as comScore, Inc. are also choosing SAVVIS for their IT infrastructure needs in the Washington, D.C. metro area. comScore, Inc. is a global information provider that supplies continuous, real-time measurement of consumer Internet activity to leading companies for use in marketing and sales strategies. It maintains large databases of information and applications used for managing its business and chose SAVVIS to provide the secure hosting environment to meet its needs.

“Our entire business relies on advanced applications and information contained in our online databases that must be continuously available,” said Ric Elert, Executive Vice President of Engineering, comScore, Inc. “SAVVIS provides the primary hosting environment that is ultra secure and highly scalable giving us the flexibility to expand our network as needed without paying for expensive upgrades.”

“The Washington metropolitan area is home to many organizations, both Government and commercial, that are turning to managed hosting and IT infrastructure services to improve efficiency and cut costs while maintaining a secure, reliable infrastructure,” said Phil Koen, CEO of SAVVIS. “We look forward to working with organizations in the Washington area and are ready to help them enhance the way they manage their IT infrastructures.”

The company is currently opening three additional new data centers in Atlanta, Silicon Valley, and the New York-New Jersey area, and recently announced plans for three more data centers in Chicago, Boston and Dallas expected to open in late 2007 and early 2008. Including the new centers in Chicago, Boston and Dallas, SAVVIS operates 30 data centers in the U.S., Europe, and Asia exceeding 1.3 million square feet of raised floor.
