Just a mere year ago we detailed the problems occurring at Myriad Network as a result of the company being sold to EMC Web hosting.
After going offline during the weekend and remaining offline for well beyond three days, after what appears to be exploitation and some hacks. The story doesn't add up though as many clients are still able to access their data via IP address -- and some users are speculating to what could be going wrong.
There's a rather lengthy thread regarding the outage itself on a forum here where a number of clients discuss emails they receive and things going on behind the scenes:
Webhostingtalk -- Myriad Network problems
One of the more interesting issues is that EMC Web Hosting, the company that owns Myriad Network, business license was revoked in the state of Arizona according to this website. The license revokation appears to have began back in May. Speculation continues regarding the downtime and whether or not an exploit actually occurs -- considering some users are still able to access their data despite being told it's gone leads many to believe that the company has some unpaid bills with bandwidth providers & was forced to move quickly over the weekend (All paid up, it seems) -- wonder.
We'll update this story as it continues.

FYI - Erik Zeiner has changed his online name to 'aspen decker'. Seems he has a new deal to part people from their hard earned moneys and put them in his pockets - coffeepledge.org. They claim to be part of a non-profit but research cannot find any non-profit by the name of "Social Good Foundation".

There may be a glimmer of hope.
EMC Telcom shut down operations in November of 2010 providing customers with only days notice, leaving many without backups. Affected customers include those from Myriad Networks who were acquired by EMC/Erik Zeiner in late 2008, as well as EMC's aliases (i.e. EMC Web Hosting and EMC VPS).
UV Hosting has received a court order to obtain the some of the servers believed to be used by EMC Telcom's Web Hosting business. We should be receiving the servers around the end of December, 2010. We do not know what data is on those servers yet, but if you are among those people cut off from your data when EMC Telcom was turns off, there may be hope for you.
Please pass this on to anyone you think may have been unfortunate enough to be caught in the EMC Telecom debacle.
UV Hosting is now taking requests from those who want to see if their data can be recovered.
For more details or to make a retrieval request, visit: http://www.uvhosting.com/emc/
Please do not call us. Submitting the form is the best way for to get in the queue. We will send e-mail updates to you as we see what we have. Please be patient. There are at least 60 servers and none of them are labeled. We have a lot of work to do.
Note: UV HOSTING IS NOT EMC. UV Hosting was seriously harmed by the actions of EMC and its GM Erik Zeiner. EMC is believed to be non-operational. Zeiner is party to a lawsuit alleging fraud in conjunction with the Myriad acquisition and he is believed to be involved with http://www.mashedreport.com/ and http://biz-con.org/

Hi Tom,
what a mess. Sorry to hear about that. And nobody wastes 150K for nothing.
Lawyers raking in 150K and have NOTHING to show for the client, seems they are just as guilty as the emc punks!
Looks like everybody got rich on the expense for the one looking for justice!
It seems the justice system failed.
Hi Isydata,
I was an adiungo customer and somehow I ended up at emc and I had no clue why and how. Now it all makes sense
There are punks everywhere.
I had two accounts with emc on two different servers.
One for automated backup so I don't have to manually do it. It would have been virtually impossible for both to fail so I didn't think much of it.
My last manual backup was december 2009. I am pretty much screwed like many others. Nobody to contact and my client planned to go online this Saturday for the Christmas season. I wasn't able to sleep since the cut off! The custom shopping cart that cost a fortune, all gone. The programmer has only the very first version available missing many changes.
Following the legal documents, I think these punks took advantage of the sloooooooow legal system, and raked in every single penny from their customers without paying any of the bills they were owing, and took off. Couple month ago I paid my 2 year term on each of my accounts.
Lifes have been changed due to their reckless actions and selfish goals. I can't believe they are getting away with it!

Tom, did you start a new business on web hosting ?. I jumped into Myriad in your days and service was superb. I want to follow you if you're still in business. Please let me know.

We sold him the company "Adiungo" for which he stills owes $150'000 (from $200'000). The whole business was terrible with a lot of unsatisfied customers.

I'm sorry to here that, Tom. I hosted with you guys for 2 years before the sale and it really was a great experience. It's sad to see this happen to a good company and good people.

Sorry to hear that Tom, that's a rather hideous story of what seems to be fraud and deception.
Hopefully all of those involved get their just desserts.

I sold Myriad Network to Erik Zeiner and EMC in December of 2008.
Since then, I've spent over 150K (yes, that's one hundred and fifty thousand dollars), in legal bills trying to get them to pay what they owe as a result of the sale.
At the time Myriad Network was sold, we were doing approximately 480K/yr in sales.
In December of 2008, Erik Zeiner and EMC also purchased another company and failed to pay for it. The owner of that company has also successfully sued EMC but thus far its been a hollow victory as all the principles in EMC are one by one declaring bankruptcy.
As I ran out of money to chase these folks I feel compelled to let everyone know who they are dealing with. Every word I write is 100% verifiable using the publically accessible courts database available at http://www.pacer.gov/
The (main) players are:
Erik Zeiner (CEO/President EMC & numerous other companies)
Nichole Malero (Erik's sister/step sister - EMC shareholder)
Russell Malero (Nicholes wife (possibly soon to be ex-wife as they are separated atm)
Kenneth McCoy (Erik's step father)
Andrea McCoy (Erik's mother)
Search for any of those names in Pacer and you will see my lawsuit (in Federal court), the lawsuit from UV2 hosting (the other company they purchased and failed to pay for), and all of their various bankruptcies.
I will let the reader draw their own conclusion and opinion. I know I certainly have mine but alas in this litigious society we live in, now is probably not the right time or venue, to share it (yet).
To all the former and current Myriad customers who stood by us through December of 2008 all I can say is "Thanks" and "Sorry".
My brother and I worked very hard to build a reliable company based on honestly and high quality service. When the decision was made to sell the company, we searched around for a good home and based on many long discussions with EMC Telecom, we felt they were a good fit.
This has been a long and difficult road since the sale. I have personally expended a ton of funds to bring EMC Telecom and the various shareholders to justice. In the end, the only ones who prospered were my lawyers (According to the bankruptcy documents EMC hired lawyers and never paid for them). Such is life, I suppose.
