It seems that IPowerweb / IPower clientele are experiencing massive problems since Friday of last week. According to several Hostjury readers users of the IPowerweb / IPower service have been unable to check their e-mail since late Friday evening.
According to our sources it appears that Endurance International Group went ahead with their planned server migration without notifying any of their clients! The result is continuous problems and issues, clients unable to check their e-mail & unable to login to their web hosting accounts.
One IPowerweb / IPower user stated that technical support seems oblivious to the migration stating that the issues were a result of "Corrupt passwords" and would be handled within a few hours. Over five days later and the problems are still occurring.
We suppose the Endurance International Group name has another possible meaning. Just how long can their clientele endure problems!

This is ruining business. I lost all my emails, and have not gotten new ones all week. One minute my website works, the next it doesn't. I can't get into my files to update my website. Each day is more problems. I can't get thru to tech support; am put on hold and nobody answers. No returns to my email to them for help, either. I want to be included if anybody starts lawsuits. I'd like to change servers, but don't know where to begin or how much of a problem it would be. Anybody know of a good server that I can easily transfer files to? (assuming I can get my files!)

I have hosted with ipower for 7 years - these last few days have hell and continue to be hell. I host 20 websites with them and every single one of them has had their frontpage extensions corrupted. NONE of my clients can update their own sites, all the form functionality is broken , no emails - its a disaster. I pulled my own 2 domains off and hosted with godaddy. Technical support is nonexistant - wait times are 2 hours plus and some crap manager CORY something promised me an email that i could forward to my clients explaining the issue was their fault never materialized.
IPOWER is a disaster I was to sue them . I had renewed recently for 2 years and npw have to incur new hosting charges cause i had to leave as they are not delivering the services I paid for .
I have a history log of all the efforts i made to contact them and they are doing nothing. They say they have a 48 hr. SLA on tickets this is BS - theses guys once were good but now are con artists .
I would encourage you to advise your clients to ditch and move to a more reputable host... i signed up with godaddy - anyone else recommend someone good ??
IHATEIPOWER.com is this taken cause it must be this months biggest money maker - they suck
lets sue these bastards into oblivion.

Robert,
My recommendation would be to migrate while you still can, they've been enduring problems for months now since the buyout.
Run :/

IPOWER is simply horrible. I am seeking others to join me in suing IPOWER for damages in a class action law suit. Anyone interested can contact me at processservers@psnwo.com (when IPOWER restores that email account...please allow 24 to 48 hours!) What a joke. Let teach them a lesson in court folks. Please join the class action suit.
My experiences mirror the others that have lost email service. I am a business and I am effectively out of business. My clients cannot contact me via email and it has been going on for days. They promise to have my email accounts back up in the next "24 to 48 hours".

I have been hosting a website for the past 2 years w/ ipower I have not really used it so i did not care much but lately i need to update But lately I have been in need to update. suprise I can t use frontage ftp then I used cuteftp it goes fine but when I check my web site it as not updated. Their conversion to vdeck 3.0 seems that it may help but u can t get an answer to when this will happens. I need to do a lot of stuffs now and I m stuck and whoever does computer work knows that it s 1 brick at a time. here I am at the first brick and many pbs. I decided to chat w/ support their 26 minutes waiting turn out to be over an hour plus another hour during the chat. nothing was resolved. they gave me so hopes that it may be working (think about it it may be working...) within 2 to 3 hours. guess what yes you are right it is not working. So I decided to call support I have called so far 5 times and got disconnected every time before I was able to talk to someone. (maybe it s my phone service but I have to deal with each one at a time.) Finally I got the hold of someone nice friendly but again suddenly in the middle of the conversation I got disconnected. Not before i found out that the ticket number i gave her (which was given to me earlier that day)did not exist. I am still on hold as I have called back who knows not much hopes.
One thing though I found out that
"We appreciate your patience. All operators are currently assisting other customers. Please continue to hold and we'll be with you as quickly as possible."
It is nice to be appreciated

Woah, woah. Slow down Pete.
Despite their own hosting being hellish that's certainly no reason to wish them eternity in hell.
Maybe just a few days, be nice!

this is the worst hosting company I have ever seen in my life. their mode of operation includes lying, blowing off the customer, general disregard for others' livelihoods, etc... I hope they burn in hell.

Francis,
Moving to another provider shouldn't be all that hard. Most providers offer free transfers, so they'll be able to move your data for you.
Note that you'll want to ask the provider upfront if they support migrations from vDeck. Some do, some don't.
As far as what happened: iPowerWeb was bought out and went down the drain.

been with ipowerweb for almost 5years, what happened to the company? I havent been receiving emails for the past week. customers serviice sucks!
HELP!!! how can i transfer it to another host
Tue, 4 December 2007, 00:56
I power is so fucked up. They cancelled my email, double charged for my domain. My hosting sites are down. Wait 75min. for support and then get disconnected. After sending email everyday to get some domain pointers working I have given up. I'm losing money, time and patient. I think this fucking company should get a class action suit.

Like other victims of iPower's negligence, I was left without email service. After two calls to tech support and one to billing (over four hours total), it was determined that I hadn't paid the domain registration for the year, although I am on auto-renewal. My original contract included domain registration and email accounts. This had renewed successfully for the last two years. This year, iPower changed the terms of service with no notification. They were confused as to why I never had to pay for domain registration, despite the fact that it was included in my package. My choice: pay it or no email. Not a customer-centric company.

Good lord! And I thought I was the only one having problems since they introduced their new vDeck platform.
I have been with them since July 2005 and thought it was great until the past month or so. I hate their new platform, it sucks. It's confusing, it's cluttered, I DO NOT like it.

We have been experiencing a email outage for the last week and can't get a response from them. They won't even issue one of our other webmasters a call ticket so he can follow up. I've been on hold for over 1 hour at this point and still waiting.

I've had contact with iPower five times over the past three days. Yesterday I listened to their stupid music on hold for 1-1/2 hours before John finally answered. He tried to comfort me by telling me that I was only one of 450,000 customers experiencing problems. That was no comfort at all. Their 24/7 tech support is not much more than a 24/7 answering service. The phones are manned by level one people who can only deal with simple problems. Otherwise your problem is referred to level two, and they will take care of your problems within 24 to 48 hours. My problem, which was referred to level two three days ago, has not been fixed yet.

In early October 2007, I canceled my service with 'IPOWER' (aka IPOWER WEB), for what in my opinion was deplorable internet service (their 'product'), and even worse customer service. I had several e-mail outages (for 2 to 3 days at a time) with i-power two months before cancellation. Then a week before cancellation, I lost several thousand dollars worth of business due to a similar outage of service (no e-mail, no web site). In addition to all of this, I could never get a service representative on the line. I've waited between an hour and a half, and two hours without being able to speak to a representative. Their on line service is also a joke. Finally after canceling my service with them, they refused to refund me for the remaining months of service, honestly a small loss in my book for getting rid of them. This is by far the worse company I've ever done business with in life. Period.

I don't think I'd ever recommend that people buy hosting for that far in advance - it's amazing how the fortunes of such companies can change overnight.
I know hosts like to do it because it saves them transaction charges but as a customer I'd always recommend not being locked in no matter how good a host has been in the past.
Certainly unless you have some kind of contractual quality of service agreement with them.

I pre-bought 2 years with them 1.5 months ago; was about to upload my created site to it and now I hesitate! I am .5 months overdue for a refund so am I just out of luck on this? Hunt for another host and pay more money for that? Yes, the new 4.95/mo. is a very attractive deal! Is this the new Enron? what to do???
